OE spellchecker not working

Hi all. My OE spellchecker is not working. When I press f7 nothing happens and when I go to the tools menue to bring it up manually jaws says it's unavailable. Anyone know what happened to it? Thanks.

Did it used to work?

I think you have to have ms word installed to use the spell checker, but I'm not sure about that, I just think I've read that somewhere.

In the help for outlook express it says,

"To check the spelling in messages

Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available."

Thanks. I do know jfw lite does have a free one I could install so think I will check it out. No I do not have ms word and this believe it or not is the first time I've tried to use it.

Just get the one from JFWLite. It works fine. That's the one I'm using. It's simple to install too.
